Most of them have historical importance as well. US is also a land of tall statues and they are the icon of various wars, movements, arts and architectures.
Here, I am going to share about the tallest statues of the US
1. Statue of Liberty – 46 meters
The Statue of Liberty is the tallest statue in the US. This famous statue is located in Liberty Iceland, Newyork City. The monument is a gift from the people of France to the American people.
Height of the statue from the ground to the torch is 93 meters. Moreover, interior structure was designed by Gustave Eiffel. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated in 1886. Statue of Liberty has become a symbol of the independence of the United States.
Hence, the statute was administered by the Lighthouse Board of the United States before 1901. National Park Service has been maintained as part of the Statue of Liberty National Monument since 1933 and is a popular tourist attraction.
2. Pegasus and Dragon – 33.5 meters
Pegasus and Dragon is one of the tallest statue which is located in Hallandale Beach, Florida. Its designer is Strassacker of Germany. The statue is 33.4 m tall in height. Its construction was completed in 2016.
Pegasus and Dragon statue is part of the long-term expansion of Gulfstream Park, which also included condominiums and more horse racing stands. The Dragon of the statue is surrounded by musical fountains featuring 13 musical pieces, 350 fog nozzles, 116 water nozzles, special LED lighting. Pegasus and Dragon are constructed with bronze and steel.
3. Our Lady of the Rockies – 27 meters
Our Lady of the Rockies statue is the fourth tallest statue in the US. Its height is 27 meters. It is located in Butte, Montana. The construction of the statue was completed in 1985.
Our Lady of the Rockies is dedicated to Blessed Virgin Mary. The statue is also additionally dedicated to “all women, especially mothers”. Our Lady of the Rockies statue was made of a concrete base and stainless steel.

4. Metaphor: The Tree of Utah – 27 meters
Metaphor: The Tree of Utah was constructed in 1986 in Bonneville Salt Flats, Western Utah. The statue is 27 meters long and made of concrete.
There are also several hollow sphere segments on the ground around the base. Its designer is a Swedish artist, Karl Momen. Since 2011, Metaphor statue has been dedicated as a visitor’s center.
5. Golden Driller – 23 meters
Golden Driller is another statue with a height of 23 meters which was built in the year 1953. The statue is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was designed from a steel frame coated in concrete and plaster.
Golden Driller is a representation of the International Petroleum Exposition. The statue is dedicated to the petroleum industry men who have created a better life for mankind from God’s abundance through their ambition and courage.
6. Tuong Phat Quan Am – 21.94 meters
Tuong Phat Quan Am statue is one of the renowned sculptures of Texas. It was constructed in 1998 and designed by Mai Chi Kim.
Tuong Phat Quan Am is also supposed to be the western hemisphere’s largest Buddhist statue. Like most other statues, it is built with cast concrete. Tuong Phat Quan Am’s height is 22 meters.

7. Brachiosaurus – 21.34 meters
Brachiosaurus is a wonderful creation and outstanding architectural representation of Gary Staab. The statue was constructed in 2009. It is situated in Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Many people visit here to witness its magnificent architecture of fiberglass construction. Brachiosaurus is 21.4 meters long.
8. The United States Marine Corps War Memorial – 20.7 meters
The United States Marine Corps War Memorial is a historically important architecture of the US. It is situated in Arlington Ridge Park, Arlington, near Virginia. The statue was constructed in 1954. Felix de Weldon, an Australian born American sculptor, designed The United States Marine Corps War Memorial.
Height of the statue is 20.7 meters. During Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II, Marine Corps War Memorial was influenced by the famous 1945 photograph of six Marines raising a US flag atop Mount Suribachi. This War Memorial is made with bronze.
9. Vulcan Statue – 20.6 meters
Vulcan Statue is a cast-iron structure. It was built in 1904. An Italian sculptor, Giuseppe Moretti designed its architecture. Vulcan Statue is located in Red Mountain, Birmingham, Alabama.
In Roman mythology, Vulcan was the God of fire and blacksmith and the equivalent of the Greek God Hephaestus. It is also the city icon of Birmingham, Alabama, reflecting its origins in the iron and steel industry.
10. A Tribute to Courage – 20.5 meters
Tribute to Courage is a statue of Sam Houston located in Huntsville, Texas. Sam Houston is one of the greatest leaders of Texas. He commanded the Texas Army during their War of Independence from Mexico in 1836.
A Tribute to Courage was constructed in 1994. Its dimension is 20 meters long. The famous sculpture is made of steel & concrete. Tribute to Courage statue is built on the memory of Sam Houston, who worked for the founding of Texas.
11. Christ of the Ozarks – 20 meters
The statue of Christ the Ozark is a magnificent sculpture of Jesus situated near Eureka Springs, Arkansas, on the peak of Magnetic Mountain. It is designed by Emmet Sullivan and constructed in the year of 1966.
Dimension of the Christ of the Ozarks is 20 meters. Many travelers visit there for religious purposes too. Christ of the Ozarks is dedicated to Jesus Christ.
12. Lucy the Elephant – 19.7 meters
Another largest statue of the US, Lucy the Elephant, is an amazing creation of James V. Lafferty. He is an Irish-American designer. The statue was built in the year of 1881. It is located in Margate City, New Jersey. Height of Lucy the Elephant is 19.7 meters.
Moreover, it is also the oldest surviving roadside tourist attraction. Though the reason of building Lucy the Elephant was to promote real estate sales and attract tourists.
13. The Father of Texas – 18.3 meters
The Father of Texas statue was designed by David Adickes which was built in the year of 2009. The statue is constructed at Angleton. Father of Texas statue is 18.3 meters tall.
Also, the statue is built with cast concrete. It is built on the memory of Stephen Fuller Austin, who is known as the father of Texas. In 1825 Austin had brought the first 300 American families into the territory and work for the independence of slaves.
14. Dignity – 15.24 meters
Dignity statue has become one of the tallest statues in the US. It was constructed in 2016. Height of Dignity statue is over 15 meters. The statue is located in the Missouri River, near Chamberlain, South Dakota.
Dignity Statue was designed by Dale Lamphere. It is a beautiful synthesis of art and culture. To honor the Lakota and Dakota people’s cultures, the stainless steel, 50-foot-tall statue was specifically created.
15. Atlas Statue – 13.7 meters
Atlas Statue is one of the oldest creations of the US, which is situated in Rockefeller Center, Manhattan, New York City. The statue is 14 meters tall. Also, it is made of a bronze granite base.
Atlas Statue was constructed in 1937. Lee Lawrie designed the architectural sculpture of the Atlas Statue. The Atlas statue represents the heavens that Zeus burdened him with as a losing Titan squad member.
